Straight Edge Shave Saki Epoxy Carbon Series - Classic Tortoise

The straight edge shave Saki epoxy carbon series-classic tortoise razor is a good looking, heavy duty, very sharp from the box, straight razor.I got good shaves with a good stropping, one hundred round trips, on a horse leather strop. I’ll probably buy a collection of different ones, with different scales. to say I like mine is an understatement. That’s about it for my review. Thank you Saki Shears for letting me give a review.

This is a very nice straight edge razor. I have always enjoyed going to barbers who use a straight edge to clean up beard/hairlines. When I saw this product, I thought I would give it a try to see if I could acheive the same effect at home. I am really impressed by the blade quality. This is SHARP out of the box. So much so, that I would be very cautious when handling it. The metal feels very solid and like a true luxury item should. The tortoise handle is nice, but does feel a little lower in quality. I would have appreciated a handle with slightly more weight to balance out the nice blade. Ultimately, the blade is the focal point of the product, so I can't complain too much about the handle. I have not used this for a full shave, but it's been very nice for detail and edge work. I would imagine it would be great for a full shave, but that's not what I have used it for. Overall, this is a quality product at a fair price point. It would make a nice gift for anyone who enjoys premium beard products. Happy with the product!

I’ve been using this straight razor for a little while now, and overall it does what I need it to do. The blade comes very sharp right out of the box and it holds that edge reasonably well with regular stropping. I haven’t had to hone it yet, but it feels like it’ll take a good edge when the time comes. The weight is balanced, which makes it easier to control, yet it still feels kind of cheap in hand, especially considering the $70 asking price. The handle opens and closes smoothly, and everything lines up the way it should. Aesthetically, I think it's lovely. In terms of performance, it glides well as long as you prep the skin properly. It cuts clean without tugging. Overall, it’s a solid, reliable razor with a slightly high price tag.

It’s nice to have a straight razor that doesn’t need to have its blade replaced. This razor looks really elegant and cuts really sharp. The presentation is really in point and this makes for a great gift. That said, the one gripe I’d make is that I wish the handle were a tad heavier in order to better balance the blade. Still this razor shaves like a dream and I’m happy to have it! It makes edging my mustache and c-cups a lot sharper!

Feels fancy when you get it. The packaging is kind of part of the good first impression. With regular maintenance and proper storage, it should last a while. The blade itself is very sharp out-of-box, and it's a great size and shape. Maintaining the blade seems like it will involve occasional sharpening, and you'll have to dry it after every use. I recommend placing the blade in a airtight container with some desiccant in the container somewhere, because the blade is likely susceptible to rust. The act of opening and closing the knife is a little tricky because the pivot joint is very tight. I put a little WD40 on it to loosen it a little, and that actually helped a ton. That made me wonder if there was already some rust on the hinge, but I couldn't find anything obviously damaged. The handle feels nice, and the blade feels balanced and good for shaving. The handle's texture is smoother than I'd like. I prefer some texture to aid in a secure grip. That said, the shape of the handle is adequate enough to get a good hold of the blade. Overall, it's a nice blade and a nice handle for said blade, but it's severely overpriced. If you need a straight edge razor, this is a good one, but it's not S tier like the price suggests.
