Bushi Shavette Straight Razor With Replaceable Blades

This is in essence what you would expect to shave with if it were the 90s again, but this does do a pretty good job shaving once you get the hang of how to actually shave with it. This isn't like your traditional shaving blades, this will give you a relatively good shave but it does take some practice getting used to the older methods. For this particular razor you're paying more for the premium experience and the quality design and box than you are for a razor as those you can get for much less than the price of this, HOWEVER if you want something elegant and quality without having to switch to a bunch of other different blades this would be for you it will just take some time getting used to it again for me personally, at least.

This razor borrowed a high end japanese name and tried to be passed off as a premium product but its far from it.The box it arrived in is cool, but was quickly tossed. The blades it came with were super cheap and didn't shave well at all. The wooden handle isn't premium at all, it feels like stained balsa wood. Overall the whole razor feels cheap and isn't worth the asking price

If your man uses a traditional straight-edged razor, this makes a great gift! The handle feels really nice in your hand, although the balance between handle and the metal part that holds the blade seems a little off. It's easy to compensate for, but would've been nice if the wood were a bit more solid and heavy. Super easy to change out the blades and the blades stay put and don't rattle around. It comes in a nice box that will hold both razor and extra blades, and it has plenty of extra blades included, altho I do worry a bit whether we can get more blades that fit when he runs out. He assures me they are a pretty standard size.

I like this Saki Shears razor. It's got a nice weight and I like the loading mechanism. However, this razor is on the high end of cost for one of this design (49.95). On the flip side, I have also ordered the same design razor from Sasiga ($21.88).The Sasiga razor material appears to be identical except for three things... The Sasiga DOES have an adjustable pivot screw which can be tightened; and a small brass net and bolt so you can tighten the blade release mechanism so it's stable. Also, the finish on the wood appears to be more water resistant than that on the Saki Shears brand. They both shave equally as well, but the Saki has a loose swinging pivot that I can't tighten and, there's a small rivet on the blade release mechanism which has no means of tightening. So, If you're looking for this design, I'd go with the Sasiga for the three points mentioned above as well as being half the cost.

Was surprised at the quality of this razor. For the actual cost I figured it would be a better balanced item. The wood on the handle is too light for the metal makeup of the razor. The razor itself has a good locking mechanism to ensure that any blade inserted does not slip. It is simple and to the point. Does its job well. I was able to use it for light shaves, and for outlines on beard and haircuts. I would just have liked to have a better handle for the cost. Still better than a lot of other similar models.
